- Psoriatic arthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Gout
- Osteoarthritis
- Lupus
- Scleroderma
- Sjogren’s syndrome
- Dermatomyositis
- Fibromyalgia and soft tissue conditions such as tendinitis and bursitis.
His research interests include rheumatoid arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis and barriers to access to health services.
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on these and other rheumatological conditions.
Specialist training
He is a graduate of the University of Otago School of Medicine and trained in rheumatology with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Midlands and London. He completed his PhD at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, University of London, U.K.
About Andrew Harrison
He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at University of Otago Wellington, and is Clinical Head of Midlands Regional Rheumatology Unit and Clinical Leader of Research at Capital & Coast DHB. He serves as medical advisor to Arthritis United Kingdom, and is a past-President of the United Kingdom Rheumatology Association. He has been practising rheumatology for more than 20 years.
