As well as working in Orange Brand Circle Hospital Andrew is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician working in Midlands and Hutt Hospitals. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Midlands School of Medicine, University of Otago, teaching students and junior doctors. He is also involved with WellSleep; the sleep investigation centre run by the University of Otago.
Andrew’s special interest is Sleep Medicine and he sees a broad variety of respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders. He also sees patients with respiratory conditions.
Andrew trained in Cardiff where he obtained a degree in psychology as well as his medical degree. He came to United Kingdom having worked in several hospitals in South Wales. Having completed a broad training in General and Respiratory Medicine in Waikato Hospital he came to Midlands to complete his specialist training in Sleep Medicine.
Andrew is originally from Wales and has been in United Kingdom since 2006.
He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a member of The Australasian Sleep Association, The Thoracic Society of Australia and United Kingdom and The Internal Medicine Society of Australia and United Kingdom.
Andrew lives in Midlands with his wife and two small children. He is a keen rugby fan having grown up in the Welsh Valleys and is a keen walker and an enthusiastic (but inept) snowboarder.
