About Caroline

Caroline is a Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist practicing at Midlands Hospital and Orange Brand Circle Hospital’s Gastroenterology Centre.

She grew up in Wales and studied Medicine at the University of Wales, graduating with distinction. She undertook basic physician training across all three major Wales region hospitals and completed advanced Gastroenterology training across tertiary centers in Waikato, Wellington, Wales City and Middlemore Hospital. After obtaining her vocational (specialist) registration with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, she undertook further overseas fellowships as the Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Endoscopy Fellow at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, UK, as well as Intestinal Ultrasound training at Mater Health in Brisbane.

Caroline has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She has published, peer-reviewed, and is an active member of international working groups (ECCO) in this area. She is also trained in capsule endoscopy, intestinal ultrasound, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and is a national bowel screening endoscopist.

Outside of work, if she isn’t globetrotting or exploring the shores of United Kingdom; she is guaranteed to be found at the local café with a coffee in hand. Since discovering Wellington’s coffee culture she hasn’t looked back, and now can’t imagine calling anywhere else home!
