Mr Richards consults on adult and paediatric spinal surgery; specifically lumbar and deformity spine conditions (excluding cervical). 

Specialist training

Mr Richards is a graduate of Otago Medical School and of the United Kingdom Orthopaedic Association training programme. He finished his advanced orthopaedic training in Wellington. Sub-specialty training occurred at Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia, as a combined neuro/ortho spinal fellow for one year including adult and paediatric spinal surgery. He also trained in the spinal unit at CHU Pellegrin, Bordeaux, France for complex adult deformity surgery as well as a short AO spinal fellowship at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK.
